Moore / Van Erk / Altenberg invite PCC-composers

Hoe mooi ze ook worden uitgevoerd, soms heeft u wellicht even genoeg van alle bekende jazzstandaards. Dan is dit uw kans. Vanaf vanavond begint er een nieuwe reeks concerten waarin aanstormend talent van het Prins Claus Conservatorium wordt uitgedaagd nieuwe composities ten gehore te brengen. Dit alles onder de bezielende leiding van docenten, rasartiesten en Amerikanen Michael Moore en Steve Altenberg. Dit keer samen met Bert van Erk. De genodigden zijn de Franse saxofonist Laurent Robino die eerder in Spanje studeerde en de Argentijnse Santiago Belgrano. Het belooft hoe dan ook een exotische avond te worden!

 

Bio Laurent Robino

Born in Bordeaux, 21st of October 1991, Laurent ROBINO begins his saxophone
studies at the age of ten in a saxophone school named “ASSO SAX”. After four years,
once he had the chance to see the legend of Jazz Benny GOLSON, who is the godfather of the school play one night, he gave the inspiration to the young saxophonist to pursue in that horizon. When he starts playing in the Big Band of the School, in 2007, he has the chance to play in the first part of the great saxophonist Manu DIBANGO & Earth Wind & Fire Experience and of course, the original arrangements of the Benny GOLSON Songbook with the composer himself, playing In the front of the band.
After three years learning the language of the jazz tradition with Jacky BERECOCHEA
& Alex GOLINO, two famous jazz masters from the South West of France, he is
accepted in the Superior Conservatory of Music: “MUSIKENE” in San Sebastian,
Spain. With the help of great musicians like: Bob SANDS, Miguel BLANCO, Roger MAS, Jo KRAUSE Mikel ANDUEZA and many others, he increases his musical experiences from Duo to Big Band, Symphonic Orchestra & composed his first pieces, for his family & friends. He even has the chance to be a part of the Orbital Quintet, Onna Marun Quintet, Half Quartet Plus Two, Reunion Big Band, Swinpapers Quintet who won the “special prize of the jury” for there first EP.
Now in the master program “NY Jazz” in the Prince Claus Conservatory in Groningen,
Netherlands, he continue to play with new people & compose new music.

 

Bio Santiago Belgrano

He is one of the most active young pianists on the Buenos Aires jazz scene. Santiago Belgrano graduated from the jazz program at Conservatorio Manuel de Falla and studied with luminaries such as Ernesto Jodos in Buenos Aires, and Jacob Sacks and
Sophia Rossoff in New York. He has shared the stage with some of the country’s most outstanding artists: Carlos Lastra, Barbie Martínez, Mariano Loiácono, Marcelo Gutfraind, Ricardo Cavalli and Eloy Michelini, among others. He was voted by the critics as one of the best new artists of 2014 following the release of his debut album, “Vicisitudes”, which includes ten pieces of his own writing and features Enrique Peña, Diana Arias, Guillermo Harriague, Enrique Norris and Rodrigo Domínguez.
