Mettaphor play Sweet Jazzy Funk – lyrical sax driven soulful guitar groove with funky beatz......Kind of nu jazz is the tag if you need one – though mettaphor prefer to make music rather than define it.........
Angelika Heinrich & Kaeleen Hunter are the force behind Mettaphor = 2 women, saxophones, gorgeous jazztrippy guitar
PLUS the trusty laptop generating a mighty sound with their 100% original sonic productions pushing the boundaries of live performance taking their studio to the stage via ableton live.Mettaphor are continually creating, discovering & reinventing at their
Live Vibe Music studio exploring & embracing the options technology affords todays musician. Angelika burns air like few other women on horns blitzing funky sax solos then switching to sensual lead vocals - don’t blink -
integrating nu jazz, funk soul or groove and is intensely inspired by Candy Dulfer. Endorsed by www.temby.com
Angelika is also the graphic/art/film guru of team.
Kaeleen is an audio tech geek who sings and plays acoustic & electric guitars. A wordy woman who is permanently engaged to a mac & fx loaded with a bag of tricks, inspired by Prince big time & seriously a force to be reckoned with.
Based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland Australia, Hunter & Heinrich tour.......and tour, their gig guide often resembles a travel itinerary.
Over the last 3 years its been two National tours of Australia & New Zealand performing at major music festivals such as Alice Springs Desert Festival, Woodford Folk Festival, Thredbo jazz Festival, Noosa Jazz Festival, Midsummer Festival Melbourne, Feast Festival Adelaide to name few. Previously a National tour of the USA playing venues such as the prestigious Kennedy Centre Washington & Lincoln Centre New York – they get around.
As women in the music industry Hunter & Heinrich are innovators in their chosen fields and remain fiercely independent.
Their production company Live Vibe Music facilitate innovative community music projects specialising in songwriting / recording / film workshops in
remote aboriginal communities – check out photos & video clips to original songs written in some of these songwriting workshops we have facilitated in
Aboriginal Communities on our Live Vibe Music myspace site via the link below.
WE love what we do and feel blessed to be able to spend our time immersed in the creative process of making music & images, be it moving or still.
