Saxofonist Gebhard Ullmann, die in New York en Berlijn woont, komt met een fantastisch power kwintet met louter topmusici naar Groningen. De New Yorkse trombonist Steve Swell kan uithalen als Roswell Rudd. De Britse rietblazer Julian Argüelles kennen we uit de Carla Bley Bigband. John Hebert is het nieuwe bastalent uit het New Yorkse clubcircuit en de energieke drummer Tim Daisy uit Chicago is de vaste drummer van Ken Vandermark. Basement Research maakt messscherpe jazz met rauwe blues en meeslepende gospel afgewisseld met een vrolijke calypso.

Saxophonist Gebhard Ullman, who lives in New York and Berlin, is coming to Groningen with a fantastic power quintet that exists of merely top musicians. The New York trombonist Steve Swell can produce sounds like Roswell Rudd. The British rotan blower Julian Argüelles is known from the Carla Bley Bigband. John Hebert is the new talented bass player from the New York club scene and the energetic drummer Tim Daisy from Chicago is the drummer of Ken Vandermark. Basement Research makes knife sharp jazz with raw blues and moving gospel mixed with a joyful calypso.
